In February, transportation costs turned out to be significant for a large part of Muscovites: 37% of respondents spent from 5 to 10% of their monthly income on transportation, and another 9% spent over 10%. For 54%, expenses did not exceed 5% of earnings. These data are provided by a "Vyberu.ru" study based on a survey of 3,000 Muscovites.

In absolute numbers, the most numerous group — 46% — stayed within the range of 3–6 thousand rubles per month. Another 26% spent from 6 to 10 thousand rubles, 10% — over 10 thousand, 18% — less than 3 thousand rubles.

Analysts attribute the increase in expenses to February snowfalls and traffic jams: 42% of citizens cited speed as the main criterion for choosing transport, 28% — cost, 20% — comfort. Against this background, 34% of respondents combined the subway with taxis, which directly increased costs.

Only 44% of respondents used public transport, 12% combined the subway with carsharing, and 10% used a personal car with occasional taxi calls.
