The Aviation Register of Russia has officially started the second stage of certification work on the promising "Tango" limited category training aircraft. This concerns the "Mock-up" stage, one of the key control points on the way to obtaining a type certificate.

The work is being carried out by the Mock-up Commission, the composition of which was approved by Rosaviatsiya. Experts will assess the compliance of the presented mock-up with the requirements of the Certification Basis, determine the types and scope of upcoming certification activities, and form a list of components to be checked mandatorily.

Based on the results of the meetings, an official protocol of the Mock-up Commission will be prepared. The document will include a preliminary assessment of the aircraft design, comments, and recommendations for improvements. The commission plans to complete its work by February 27.

To start testing, certain conditions must be met. The "Mock-up" stage ends when the developer provides the Aviation Register of Russia with a report on the elimination of all detected inconsistencies. Without this document, the transition to the next stage — certification tests — is impossible.
