Specialists of the military-industrial holding "Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant" (KMZ), within the framework of a state contract, carried out the repair of a batch of M510 marine diesel engines for warships. This was reported by the holding's press service.
M510 is a high-speed, 56-cylinder four-stroke engine with water cooling and gas turbine supercharging. It is installed on warships, patrol and border boats.
KMZ performs any type of repair and maintenance of diesel engines with testing on a load bench.
The holding has its own production facilities with advanced equipment and a spare parts warehouse, KMZ emphasized.
About M500 series engines
M500 series marine high-speed engines were produced at the Leningrad plant "Zvezda" in the 1950s. Power units were used on small missile ships, anti-submarine ships, and sea minesweepers. Now KMZ is repairing them, and also developing modern automated control systems (ACS).
