All taxis in Russia should have inflatable boosters with "smart" seatbelts that automatically adjust to the child's height and weight. This proposal was made by the Deputy Secretary of the Public Chamber (OP) of the Russian Federation, Vladislav Grib.
Every taxi driver should have such devices, regardless of the fare. Vladislav Grib, Deputy Secretary of the OP of the Russian Federation
If a booster is available, the cost of a children's fare could be equated with other fares, he added.
Advantages of inflatable boosters
Grib noted that the device takes up little space in the trunk. In addition, three boosters for three children can be placed in the back seat.
However, it is necessary to conduct crash tests and confirm the safety of restraint devices, the representative of the OP of the Russian Federation believes. The use of such products is especially important in the case of transporting large families.
In Russia, 4 devices for restraining children are certified depending on their height and weight. Seat belt adapters, fabric pads and "triangles" are prohibited.
