The deployment of the Russian Orbital Station (ROS) is scheduled for 2028. This was announced by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov.
It will become a key platform for the exploration of deep space, including the creation of a Russian lunar base.
Currently, Russia is working on a promising orbital station.
Previously, the launch of the ROS into a polar orbit was planned with an inclination angle of about 97 degrees. However, it was changed to 51.6 degrees. Because the International Space Station (ISS) is in the same orbit.
It is planned that the deployment of the ROS will begin as part of the Russian segment of the ISS, and after the completion of the ISS project, it will separate into an independent flight. The cost of the project to create the Russian Orbital Station is estimated at 608.9 billion rubles. The first to go into orbit should be the scientific and energy module, which is scheduled to launch at the end of 2027.
