Uralvagonzavod (UVZ) announced the serial production of the rare armored recovery vehicles BREM-80. On Friday, February 20, Rostec reported the transfer of a batch of this equipment to the military.
The company noted that the mechanized coupling with a bulldozer blade and a hydraulic winch makes it possible to evacuate damaged equipment without even leaving the vehicle.
Production of the BREM-80 has already been put on stream. Incidentally, at the international competition "Rembat-2018," this vehicle set a record by evacuating six coupled T-80s with a total weight of more than 270 tons!
The GTD-1250 gas-turbine engine will ensure instant startup even in Arctic cold — the vehicle operates where other equipment would simply come to a halt, UVZ added.
The main winch delivers a pulling force of 35 ton-force. The cable extends at a speed of 50 meters per minute and is wound in two speeds — 17 meters per minute and 50 meters per minute (selected taking into account the weight of the equipment being evacuated).
