The modernized "Khrizantema-M" missile for helicopters has received an increased strike range and now reaches supersonic speed. This was reported by Rostec's Vysokotochnye Kompleksy holding.
The new version of the munition is used not only on ground-based anti-tank systems, but also on helicopters.
Alongside the "Izdeliye-305" missile, it gives helicopter crews an advantage, as it allows missile launches without entering the engagement zone of man-portable air defense systems, Vysokotochka added.
The exact characteristics of the "Khrizantema-M" after modernization are unknown. In the summer of 2024, military expert Evgeny Damantsev reported that the updated "Khrizantema-VM" version had also begun to equip the Mi-28NM "Night Hunter" and Ka-52 "Alligator" helicopters. In that case, it was about a range of up to 10 km.
