The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against the Volchansky Mechanical Plant (VMZ, part of Uralvagonzavod of Rostec) for non-payment of wages. This was reported to "Uralinformburo" by a former employee of the enterprise, Dmitry Alekseev, who was recognized as a victim.
The investigation believes that unidentified persons responsible for the timely accrual of payments to employees did not pay the employee's salary for several consecutive months — from January 1 to August 11, 2025.
This is not the first criminal case about VMZ's debts to a former employee. In October 2024, Alekseev and his colleague Andrey Sobakinskikh recorded a video message to the head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin, complaining about the situation.
Later, the company paid Dmitry Alekseev 230 thousand rubles, and the case was closed. However, according to the victim himself, no one was brought to justice.
VMZ produces wagon platforms, timber carriers, hoppers, as well as steel cylinders for propane. The parent company, Uralvagonzavod, is known for the production of T-90M "Proryv" tanks.
