PAO "ODK-Saturn" formed a fully autonomous production of modern marine gas turbine engines in a record-short time, ensuring technological independence in this critically important area. This was stated by Aide to the President of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Maritime Board Nikolai Patrushev at a meeting on the development of marine engine building in St. Petersburg.
The company managed in a short time to fully ensure Russia's technological sovereignty in this area.
According to him, the enterprise built a new production chain virtually from scratch, completely eliminating dependence on foreign components and technologies.
The meeting was devoted to the implementation of the long-term strategy for domestic shipbuilding.
Patrushev recalled that the shipbuilding program for the FSB fleet through 2050 has already been approved by the President of Russia, a draft of a similar program for the Navy is at the final stage of preparation, and the state program for the construction of civilian vessels is being actively developed.
A key condition for the successful implementation of the strategy was named as providing ships and vessels under construction with modern domestic equipment, primarily power plants. This requires creating a full range of marine engines: diesel, gas turbine, combined, dual-fuel, as well as systems based on hydrogen energy.
Patrushev named the development of air-independent power plants based on hydrogen electrochemical generators as one of the promising areas.
