Cheap and cheerful: drones with nets and rebar proved effective in combating "Baba Yaga"

Russian soldiers also use the Verba MANPADS against drones

Inexpensive Russian FPV drones, equipped with nets and rebar, have repeatedly destroyed heavy "Baba Yaga" hexacopters, according to a source in law enforcement agencies.

Often, both drones are destroyed after such a defeat, but their cost is incomparable and often differs by tens of times.

The Verba man-portable air defense system (MANPADS) has proven effective in combating drones. Developed by the Kolomna-based Engineering Design Bureau (KBM), it intercepts strike and reconnaissance drones regardless of their flight altitude.

Russian soldiers also shoot down fiber-optic drones of the enemy. Soldiers use shotguns and anti-drone guns.

Small arms for combating UAVs began to be actively supplied to the RF Armed Forces in 2025. In particular, the military is provided with Vepr-12 Molot smoothbore shotguns.
