The new Russian fifth-generation supersonic fighter, the Su-75 Checkmate, is capable of pushing the American F-35 aircraft out of the global market. This forecast was shared by Honored Military Pilot Major General Vladimir Popov.
According to him, in terms of technical parameters, the two aircraft are on the same level, but the development cost of the F-35 is significantly higher.
The Su-75 is still undergoing tests, and then it will be necessary to obtain certification, after that to fine-tune the production base. But it will definitely be better [than the F-35] in that it will be much cheaper than the American counterpart. I think this will be a very big blow to the Americans' foreign market.
Rosoboroneksport CEO Aleksandr Mikheev noted that there is interest in the Su-75 in the countries of the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific regions in the countries of the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific regions.
The head of the flight service of the Sukhoi company, Hero of Russia Sergei Bogdan, reported that the first flight of the Su-75 Checkmate will take place at the beginning of 2026.
