MS-21 and "Superjet" will become cheaper: OAK has found a way to bring down aircraft prices

The economic efficiency of the airliners will also increase

United Aircraft Corporation (OAK) has begun work on improving the economic efficiency of civil aircraft, including reducing their cost. This was announced by OAK chief Vadim Badekha.

According to him, the emergence of new alternative suppliers of onboard systems has already produced a strong positive effect.

The second factor that needs to be considered is the market. We need to look not only at the domestic market, but also at the international one. An increase in production volumes will directly affect cost reduction.

Badekha noted that the corporation is speaking the same language as operators when it comes to the economics of aircraft operation.

The work to achieve such a level of operating cost that would satisfy airlines has now generally been completed. We discussed everything with all our colleagues in a completely transparent manner, understood that this model exists, we all saw it and verified it.

In July 2025, it was reported that the cost of one MS-21-310 excluding subsidies had increased to 7.6 billion rubles. The price of one Tu-214 was estimated at 5.6 billion rubles, and the SJ-100 at around 2.6 billion rubles.

The cost of the first three Russian Il-114 aircraft will amount to 4 billion rubles per unit, while subsequent ones, due to repricing, will cost 2.6 billion rubles.

Aviation expert Oleg Panteleev explained to "Pervomu tekhnicheskomu" that for airlines, the decisive factor is the size of the leasing payment, not the catalog price of the aircraft.
