Front-line Kulibins are actively using protection for tanks and self-propelled guns in the form of unraveled cables. Online, it has already been nicknamed the "dandelion" for its resemblance to the well-known plant.
Journalists from the Rossiya 24 TV channel clarified that because of this metal structure, the armored vehicles gained one ton in weight.
To cover one combat vehicle, at least 600 such cables are needed. Of course, this greatly increases the weight.
However, the "dandelions" are more versatile compared with the "barbecues." With them, the equipment can move freely between trees or buildings. Exactly how to place the protection is decided by the combat vehicle crew.
But "dandelions" alone are not enough, so the military also adds anti-drone nets to them. The goal is simple: for kamikaze drones to detonate before reaching the vehicle's main armor.
