The Russian Ministry of Defence has filed a lawsuit against the military equipment manufacturer JSC "Kurgan Machine-Building Plant." The case was registered with the Moscow Arbitration Court.
Documents in the court case database indicate that the ministry expects to recover about 39.3 million rubles from Kurganmashzavod. Details of the claims have not yet been disclosed in the arbitration materials.
Kurganmashzavod specializes in the production of BMP-3 and BMD-4M military combat vehicles. Presumably, the reason for the lawsuit may be a violation of equipment delivery deadlines. The next court hearing will take place on April 4.
Military analysts had raised questions about the quality of the BMD-4M's armor protection. Troops had to rapidly develop additional protection for the combat vehicles.
