In Russia, a new turret with artificial intelligence and self-guidance against drones called "Ronin 3" was tested. The new product is capable of autonomously engaging all types of aerial drones, the Chechen design bureau Tallamkho said.
The company clarified that the unit operates in manual, semi-autonomous, and autonomous modes. In some configurations, the system is also capable of operating at night.
The AI model we developed is capable of recognizing, among other things, fixed-wing drones. The first unit of the product has been sent for testing.
The company also added that thanks to the new control unit, two modes are used: a semi-automatic mode, in which the AI acquires the target and the operator opens fire, as well as a fully autonomous mode.
Earlier, the Russian military received automatic machine-gun systems "Zubr" against drones. They also shoot down unmanned aircraft without operator involvement.
