The Sosnovsky Shipbuilding Plant in Kirov Region will receive 1.5 billion rubles to restore production as part of the implementation of the national project "Industrial Support for Transport Mobility." This was reported by the region's Minister of Industry Denis Pestrikov.
The plant was founded in 1924. During the Great Patriotic War, it produced torpedo boats and aerosleds. In the post-war years, the enterprise mastered the production of fishing vessels and passenger hovercraft "Zarnitsa," "Plamya," and "Orion."
Despite its rich history, the plant faced serious difficulties. In 2016, production stopped. In 2019, the enterprise was declared bankrupt.
With new financial support, the Sosnovsky Shipbuilding Plant may return to operation.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that plans for deliveries of Russian dry cargo ships of project RSD59 were cut by almost half.
