The expert group of the Wagon Management Commission has approved the technical specifications for the 13-1258-04 fitting platform model developed by the «RM Rail» holding. Serial production of the wagon will be launched at the «Ruzkhimmash» plant after certification according to TR TS 001/2011.
The new four-axle modification demonstrates key improvements over its predecessors — the basic model 13-1258 (certified in 2017) and version 13-1258-03 (2021). The carrying capacity has been increased from 72 to 76 tons, and the transition to the 1-T gauge has reduced the platform length from 14.6 to 13.1 m. As a result, the tare weight has been reduced by 4 tons — from 22 to 18 tons.
The platform is designed for transporting one 40-foot or two 20-foot general-purpose containers. The design allows for the transportation of isothermal containers and tank containers for liquids, gases, and bulk cargo under pressure.
Model 13-1258-04 will be the first wagon in the «RM Rail» line to be equipped with a modified 18-1277-01 bogie with an axle load of 23.5 tf. The bogie was developed by «RM Rail Engineering» and SEC «Wagons» specifically for light-tare wagons with increased overhaul intervals. Its certification for serial production at «Ruzkhimmash» was completed in mid-January 2026.
