Since January 21, 2026, two updated sleeping carriages of the SV class with increased comfort have started running as part of the branded "Belogorye" train, operated by the Federal Passenger Company (FPC, part of Russian Railways). Their modernization was carried out by the Voronezh plant "Vagonremmash".
According to the South-Eastern Railway, during the reconstruction, the number of compartments in each carriage was reduced from nine to eight. This made it possible to increase the internal space of each compartment. The compartment now has two horizontal sleeping places about two meters long, as well as a separate room with shower cabins.
Each compartment is equipped with adjustable lighting, closed shelves for hand luggage, niches for outerwear, multimedia screens and a conductor call button. The interior design is made in an aesthetic reminiscent of German-made Ammendorf carriages.
In addition to the two updated SV carriages, the "Belogorye" includes eight compartment carriages, eight reserved seat carriages and a restaurant car. It is noted that similar modernized carriages have previously been introduced on trains on the Moscow — Voronezh and Moscow — Tambov routes.
