The Miass Machine-Building Plant (MMZ, part of Roscosmos) in the Chelyabinsk region has put up for auction workshops and other property worth 2.6 billion rubles. This follows from the Fedresurs database.
We are talking about the sale of assets of an enterprise declared bankrupt. The documentation indicates that the property belongs to the category of strategic objects intended for the implementation of state defense orders and ensuring the country's defense capability. Applications will be accepted until March 20, 2026.
MMZ participated in the cooperation of enterprises that ensured the development of ballistic missiles that are in service with nuclear submarines of the Russian Navy. The company also produced individual components and technical systems for missile systems.
The plant's financial problems were exacerbated after criminal cases against the former management. In February 2022, the Miass City Court found the ex-director of JSC "MMZ" Andrei Yurchikov guilty of embezzlement and sentenced him to five years in prison.
Earlier it became known that in Zelenodolsk a machine-building plant will be closed, where 400 local residents work. Some employees have already been laid off under the article on the liquidation of the enterprise.
