The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reports on the activities of fraudsters who post TikTok videos promising "easy money" for renting accounts on free classifieds services. The criminals are focused on deceiving schoolchildren and students and involving them in the illegal rental of accounts.
Young people, handing over their accounts for money, become accomplices in fraudulent schemes that use call centers for various illegal activities.
The agency warns that the transfer of accounts to third parties, even for a short period, may be grounds for administrative liability. Moreover, participation in the organization of such activities may entail criminal prosecution.
