Russia will invest in the development of the existing space constellation. This was announced by President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with students and graduates of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT).

In January 2026, Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov reported to the head of state on the work done in the field of space. According to him, in 2025 the number of satellites in orbit increased to 300.
The country has civilian spacecraft performing the function of remote sensing of the Earth. In addition, some of the satellites are controlled by the ground-based automated control complex of the Space Forces of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation.
