The Novozybkov plant "NovoTechRail" has completed the certification of two modifications of its new four-axle tank car — 15-3217 and 15-3217-01, designed for the transportation of oil products. It is reported that the project was developed jointly with specialists from "ICVS-Service" company.
According to the data from the directory of models of freight cars (SMGR), both models have a carrying capacity of 67.3 tons and a boiler volume of 86.6 m³. The boiler previously passed separate certification at the same enterprise. The running gear uses bogies of its own design — 18-6782, designed for an axle load of 23.5 tf (analogous to bogies 18-100). The declared service life of the cars is 32 years.
A feature of the 15-3217-01 modification is the use of bogies with improved wear-resistant elements, which allows to increase the overhaul mileage to 350 thousand km or four years of operation. The basic version 15-3217 is designed for 210 thousand km or three years without major repairs.
The 15-3217 tank car became the second model in the line of freight rolling stock of NovoTechRail, which began producing cars in 2024. The first development of the enterprise was the 15-6758 tank car for the transportation of liquefied petroleum gases (LPG), certified in 2024 by order of Gazpromtrans.
