The Ministry of Internal Affairs warned about the spread of viruses for hacking banking applications

Attackers gain remote access to smartphones and intercept authorization codes

Fraudsters are spreading malicious software designed to intercept authorization codes and gain remote access to banking applications on mobile devices. This was reported to TASS in the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

The department clarified that the functionality of such software allows attackers to collect data about the mobile devices of victims - information about the model, operating system version, SIM card numbers, SMS messages, contacts, call logs and geolocation. In addition, viruses make it possible to remotely control smartphone functions.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs recommended that citizens do not install applications from unverified sources and use reliable antivirus software to protect personal data and prevent device infection.
