From January 1, Sberbank introduces new rules for logging in and confirming transactions in the "Sberbank Online" service. The updates apply to both the mobile application and the computer version. The new rules are aimed at combating fraud and improving customer security.
The main change is an enhanced authorization system. Now, logging into your personal account will be strictly tied to a specific device and a confirmed phone number. When attempting to log in from a new smartphone, tablet, or computer, the system will require additional confirmation via SMS, push notification, or automated call. In some cases, the user may need to undergo identity verification: record a short video or use biometrics, if enabled.
Sberbank is also introducing additional security measures for financial transactions. Transfers of large sums, changes in limits, and loan applications will now be accompanied by additional confirmation steps. This will reduce the risk of fraudulent schemes related to remote access to accounts and malicious software.
The application interface logic will also change: the most popular functions-transfers by phone number or QR code, card management, and transaction history-are moved to the main screen. Less frequently used sections will remain accessible through search. The notification system has been updated: the user will receive a warning when attempting to transfer to a suspicious account or changing security settings.
One of the key innovations will be the ability to flexibly adjust limits. Customers will be able to independently set restrictions on transfers and card transactions, as well as choose methods for confirming actions. This will give more control over finances and help respond more quickly to suspicious transactions.
