The fiber-optic FPV drone "Knyaz Vandal Novgorodsky" (KVN), actively used in the Russian army, continues to receive regular technical updates - on average, once a month. This was reported by a Russian military drone operator with the call sign "Buratino," who has experience in combat use of the device since its inception.
What is important is that this drone is constantly being improved. Updates are released almost every month: initiation boards are added, and the range of destruction is increased. And most importantly, the developers really listen to us, the operators. Our comments and suggestions are implemented, and not just in words.
According to the military, the drone has undergone significant evolution during its operation, and all changes were aimed at improving its combat characteristics. Currently, KVN is considered one of the most effective unmanned systems in the arsenal of Russian units.
According to the operator, special attention should be paid to improvements in communication stability, image transmission quality, and the overall reliability of the device in real combat conditions. Thanks to these improvements, drone control has become easier, safer, and more accurate.
