Rosseti, one of the largest holdings in the field of electric grids, has decided to invest in the creation of a comprehensive information security system, acquiring ViPNet software and hardware complexes (PAC) and Aquarius servers on the Astra Linux operating system. 412 million rubles have been allocated for these purposes.
Applications for participation in the tender are accepted until January 16, 2026, and the results of the auction will be announced on January 23. Rosseti intends to purchase devices for cryptographic protection and network screening based on ViPNet technologies, including ViPNet Coordinator IG100 hardware complexes, certificates for annual technical support, and licenses for Policy Manager and ViPNet Prime software modules.
The infrastructure base will include TOPAZ security switches with optical SFP modules and iRZ RL21 routers with antennas and power supplies to ensure network connectivity. Measuring probes and Wi-Fi agents are planned to be used to control the quality of communication channels.
Servers on the Astra Linux operating system will be equipped with Intel Xeon Silver 4210R processors. Additionally, the package includes protection from Kaspersky Lab and backup solutions.
The physical deployment environment will be implemented using 42-unit (U) high telecommunication cabinets, equipped with the necessary equipment for the safe and efficient operation of servers. Backup power issues will be resolved through the supply of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) with batteries and the necessary distribution electrical equipment.
The Rosseti Group manages more than 2.5 million kilometers of power lines and various electrical substations with a total capacity of 877 thousand megavolt-amperes (MVA). Over 80% of all electricity produced in the country passes through the Rosseti networks.
