South Korean company Kia Corporation registered 36 trademarks and filed four applications for registration of services in Russia in 2025, TASS reported.

The applications were submitted to Rospatent in July–October 2024 and registered only in April 2025. The trademarks relate to classes No. 9, 12, 38 and 42 of the International Classification of Goods and Services (ICGS), including side distance sensors for cars, unmanned vehicles, telecommunication services, quality control and certification of used cars.

In addition, the company filed four applications for registration of trademarks for services, one of which has already been registered, and three are under examination. These applications relate to classes No. 9, 37, 41 and 43 of the ICGS and cover electronics, technical equipment, construction and repair work, educational services and the food sector.

In April 2025, South Korean publications reported that Kia had included the Russian market in its medium-term plans, with the intention of selling 4.1 million cars by 2030, of which 50,000 would be in Russia. Later, Hyundai Motor Group, of which Kia is a part, clarified that it was referring to the CIS countries, and not only to Russia.
