From January 1, 2026, updated signs and markings corresponding to the new GOSTs appeared on the country's roads. However, some changes already came into force in 2025.
The main changes concern the introduction of new vertical "Stop" signs, yellow markings to separate oncoming traffic flows, and combined indicators. The innovations are implemented to improve traffic safety. Road organizations monitor the implementation of standards, and information about their use is already coming from various regions.
Within the framework of the updated GOSTs, according to the documents, significant attention is paid to improving the marking and rules for the use of signs. The first new requirements include the introduction of combined indicators and various new signs. For example, indicators recommending the speed when passing artificial irregularities have already been installed on Borovaya Street in Moscow.
New signs have also appeared in Zelenograd and other settlements. For example, a "Lane Start" sign has been installed on Panfilovsky Prospekt, and a "Parking" sign with corresponding symbols has been installed on Berezovaya Alley.
In addition, new signs with speed recommendations are being actively introduced in Reutov and Krasnogorsk in the Moscow region. The updated standards are also applied in the Krasnodar Territory, as reported by the regional Ministry of Transport.
The updates also affected the Leningrad Region, where new signs have been introduced since 2025. In particular, a vertical "Stop Line" sign has been installed in the village of Razmetelevo. The state company "Avtodor" is actively integrating new signs into the documentation on traffic management.
