Russian kamikaze drones of the Geran family are capable of shooting down helicopters and even fighters thanks to new means of destruction on board. This was announced by Yuri Knutov, a historian of air defense forces and a military expert.
According to him, drones have significantly increased the range of action and accuracy, "Geraniums" are protected from interference from electronic warfare equipment.
"Geraniums" have jet engines, some carry R-60 class "air-to-air" missiles with a thermal homing head. They are capable of hitting helicopters or fighters.
Alexander Stepanov, an employee of the Institute of Law and National Security RANEPA, some time ago also stated the possibility of installingR-74M2 missiles from the Su-57 fighter on the "Geran".
According to preliminary estimates, the production of Geran-2 drones in Russia has reacheda level of 6500-7500 units monthly.
