Russia supplies S-400 "Triumph" anti-aircraft missile systems to friendly countries abroad with reduced characteristics compared to the systems in service with its own army. This was explained to "The First Technical" by military expert, Captain 1st Rank of the Reserve Vasily Dandykin.
According to him, the domestic complex contains elements of state secrets that are not transferred to buyers in order not to reveal the tactical advantages of the domestic system.
It is accepted all over the world that what is in service with us has one set of characteristics, while the purchasing countries have another. There are aspects that we do not allow, which constitute an element of state secrets.
Dandykin added that when complexes are deployed in a marching formation, the cover scheme is more multi-layered.
When regimental S-400 complexes enter service, they are necessarily accompanied by a division of "Pantsirs" to protect the "Triumphs." I can't say whether Turkey was sold such "Pantsirs," but that's how it is with us.
Prior to this, the US Ambassador to Turkey, Thomas Barrack, reported that the republic should abandon the С-400 in order to receive American F-35 fighters. Several years ago, the Turkish authorities purchased four divisions of air defense systems, the contract value was estimated at $2.5 billion.
