Students of the Izhevsk State Technical University (ISTU) named after Kalashnikov presented two projects developed to help gunsmiths at the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant (IMZ) in the final of the MEKHAN.START acceleration program. This was reported in the press service of the Kalashnikov concern.
Students of the "Small Arms" department created a functioning prototype of a cartridge loading machine in 3 months. This solution will halve the preparation of Lebedev and Yarygin 9x19 mm caliber pistols for testing.
The second project was developed by students of the "Information Technology" department. They automated the process of calculating the accuracy and precision of shooting. It is expected that this proposal will halve the calculation time.
The ISTU acceleration program is a format that allows students to work on real production tasks.
