The new Russian drilling rig ZBO S15E was tested in extreme conditions at the Vershinnoe uranium deposit in Buryatia. This was reported in the press service of the state corporation Rosatom.
ZBO S15E drills wells at temperatures below -25 °C. Despite the harsh weather conditions, the equipment copes with its tasks.
Director of Development of RUSBURMASH Vladislav Chashchin said that the installation has been tested at the field for a week. During this time, productivity at the site increased by 10%.
This is the first step towards creating a Russian fully robotic drilling rig.
The press service of Rosatom noted that the main advantage of ZBO S15E is the implemented Smart drill technology. It helps to generate a report on the condition of the equipment. Artificial intelligence (AI) is responsible for monitoring. Thus, working with the new drilling rig becomes easier and safer for employees.
