The All-Russian Research Institute of Oilseed Crops (VNIIMK) has received modern equipment - the "Polymya" seed cleaning machine. The acquisition was made possible thanks to a federal subsidy from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education as part of a program to introduce innovative technologies into the agro-industrial complex.
In 2025, the institute won a competitive selection from the department and received funding to update its technical base. The new machine is compact and has optimal power, which allows it to effectively work with small batches of seeds, single-row plots, as well as conduct competitive, environmental and postgraduate research.
Seed cleaning on the "Polymya" takes place in two stages. First, the seeds are aspirated - a stream of air removes light impurities. Then the raw materials pass through sieves, where they are sorted by size. This technology reduces processing time, reduces manual labor and minimizes additional intervention in the seeds.
The machine is of particular importance for the selection of large-fruited confectionery sunflower, which the institute is actively involved in. "Polymya" will accelerate research processes and improve the quality of seed material, which is important both for scientific work and for practical application in the agro-industrial sector.
