In the next 15-20 years, digital certification will become the main trend in aircraft construction. This was announced by the chief designer for key scientific and technological development of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPBPU) "System Digital Engineering" Alexey Borovkov.
He emphasized that it is not planned to completely cancel the tests. However, thanks to this digital approach, a huge amount of work will be done, which will allow the tests to be successfully passed on the first try.
By creating such design, modeling, digital certification and digital twin development technologies, we are also working on a second task — designing next-generation products with even better characteristics.
Alexander Sebelev, Head of Engine Building at the Advanced Engineering School of SPBPU "Digital Engineering", added that today digital technologies provide a platform for moving towards reducing the technological gap.
It is enough to recall examples from the past, when the certification of one combat aircraft engine stretches for 15-20 years. Now we cannot afford such deadlines, we need to reduce them.
«Первый технический» already wrote that at the Moscow enterprise «Салют» developed a digital analogue of the AI-222-25 engine, and at the St. Petersburg «ОДК-Климов» – a digital model of the TV7-117ST-01.
