"Lyudmila," but without Ruslan: Radart Design Bureau Develops Turret with Optoelectronic Guidance System

The machine gun mount can intercept small UAVs

Specialists from the Russian design bureau (KB) "Radart" and the "Fundament" group have developed the "Lyudmila" turret with an optoelectronic guidance system. The machine gun mount is capable of intercepting small drones with a high probability.

Based on the 7.62-mm PKT (Kalashnikov tank machine gun) and 12.7-mm NSVT (Nikitin-Sokolov-Volkov tank machine gun), the turrets, thanks to a modern software ballistic computer, can intercept small FPV drones at a distance of several tens of meters.
Expert of "Russian weapons"

"Lyudmila" will also be able to hit a heavy aircraft-type drone at a distance of up to 700 m with a burst of up to 20 shots, suggested the author of "Russian weapons." In his opinion, mass production of such an inexpensive installation could be established at the facilities of the Kalashnikov concern in just a couple of months. The manufactured turrets should be deployed near the rear facilities of critical infrastructure, the expert concluded.
