The regional airline "Khabarovsk Airlines" has added an An-26-100 aircraft to its fleet and plans to purchase another similar aircraft, the company said. The new aircraft was delivered to Khabarovsk after being ferried by the crew from Moscow, where the aircraft was purchased from the Flight Research Aerogeophysical Center.
The aircraft will be used for passenger and cargo transportation. A feature of the An-26-100 model is the ability to change the cabin configuration for a specific flight: seats can be dismantled for cargo or a combined option can be organized. According to representatives of the airline, this is the best model for delivering passengers and cargo to the northern regions of the region.
The new An-26-100 has a relatively small flight time - about 20 thousand hours, while similar aircraft have 2.5–3 times more. Previously, the aircraft was mainly used for search and rescue operations. Now, specialists of the aviation technical service are conducting a comprehensive survey of the aircraft. After being included in the civil aviation register and obtaining an airworthiness certificate, the aircraft will enter the region's routes.
400 million rubles have been allocated from the regional budget for the purchase of two An-26-100s. The company noted that the expansion of the fleet will ensure the stable implementation of the flight program and improve the transport accessibility of remote areas of the region.
"Khabarovsk Airlines" operates regular and charter flights within the region, connecting Khabarovsk with Nikolaevsk-on-Amur, Okhotsk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Sovetskaya Gavan and a number of small settlements. The company's fleet includes 12 aircraft.
