The corvette "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov" of Project 20380 conducted exercises to search for and conditionally destroy an enemy submarine in the Peter the Great Bay. The maneuvers took place according to the combat training plan of the Pacific Fleet.
According to the exercise scenario, the corvette's crew received a signal about the possible presence of an unidentified submarine. The ship immediately advanced to the designated area and began searching for the target. To increase the control zone, a Ka-27PL anti-submarine helicopter was involved in the operation.
Through joint efforts, the crews managed to detect a mock enemy submarine that was trying to evade observation by changing course and depth. The corvette's combat teams maintained constant sonar contact and carried out a mock torpedoing of the target.
The role of the "enemy" submarine was played by a diesel-electric submarine of the "Varshavyanka" project, which is characterized by low noise and a high level of stealth, which enhanced the realism of the training.
The armament of the 20380 series corvettes, depending on the ship's modification, includes launchers for "Caliber-NK" or "Uran" anti-ship missiles, artillery installations, grenade launchers, an anti-aircraft missile system, and machine gun installations.
