UZGA Upgraded Forpost Reconnaissance UAV for Foreigners: No More Metal Frame

The new wing has improved aerodynamic characteristics

The Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) has significantly modernized the export version of the Forpost-RE reconnaissance drone. The company's press service spoke about the main improvements to the complex.

Engineers changed the design of the wing and tail. They chose to switch to an all-composite power caisson, abandoning the metal frame. This reduced the number of joints and fasteners.

The new wing with a larger wingspan has improved aerodynamic characteristics. As a result of the modernization, the payload mass that the UAV can carry has increased.

Also, through the use of new technological processes, the designers managed to reduce the complexity of manufacturing the export version.
