The long-range missile carriers arrived from the Far East and landed beyond the Arctic Circle on Monday, November 24. It should be noted that the Russian Ministry of Defense has not officially announced the redeployment of the Tu-22M3s.

It is also worth noting that the distance from the Olenya airbase to the Norwegian border is approximately 154–200 km. The facility is located about 92 km south of Murmansk and is situated near the towns of Olenegorsk and Vysoky. "Olenya" was built in the mid-1950s in a mountainous area at an altitude of about 200 meters above sea level.

During the construction of the airfield, bulldozers cut off the tops of the hills because they abutted the ends of the runway, and the hardest sections were blown up. The length of the runway is 3500 m, with a reinforced concrete surface. «Первый технический» рассказывал подробно об авиабазе.

The main armament of the Tu-22M3 is the Kh-22 missiles, the hypersonic Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal," and aerial bombs.
