Tests of the unmanned boat "Heroes of the Fog" continue in the Murmansk region. They will end in 2026. This was announced by the General Director of the development company "NPK Progress" Ivan Sukhanov.
The first test of the unmanned boatwas carried out in September.
In total, 3-4 tests were planned, the final of which will be a trip in autonomous mode, possibly with some support group for the safety of the experiment in ZATO Ostrovnoy. This is probably one of the most serious tests that a small vessel can undergo.
The dispatch to the city of Ostrovnoy is scheduled for the beginning of 2026. However, it will all depend on the weather conditions, as the Barents Sea can be very restless and dangerous.
The boat "Heroes of the Fog" is dedicated to the feat of the patrol ship "Tuman", which during the war sacrificed itself to save the Northern Fleet from enemy attack. The purpose of the vessel is to deliver goods to remote and hard-to-reach areas of the region.
