About the Recycling Fee

In Russia, the recycling fee will increase from December 1. Many cars popular in the Far East, including Li Auto or Geely Monjaro, fall under the new rates.

Currently, a basic rate applies to passenger cars imported into the country for personal use. The preferential coefficient is 3.4 thousand rubles (for new cars no older than 3 years) or 5.2 thousand rubles (for used cars older than 3 years). This coefficient applies to cars with an engine capacity of up to 3 liters.

From December 1, the benefit is retained only for cars with a capacity of up to 160 hp. The recycling fee for all others will be calculated based on commercial rates, which vary within the range of 600 thousand rubles. — 2.5 million rubles.
