Without Rostec's participation: a new 60-passenger Aurus aircraft will be built in Ulyanovsk

The aircraft will take to the skies in 2030

By 2030, the first civilian economical 60-seat aircraft is planned to be assembled in Ulyanovsk. This was announced by Governor Alexey Russkikh at a working meeting with heads of regional departments.

It is planned that the work will be carried out within the framework of the implementation of the Aurus-Aero project. The head of the region did not provide other technical details.

The media reported that the production of new Russian business jets based on the Soviet-era Tu-324 design will be launched in the Ulyanovsk Port Special Economic Zone (PSEZ).

Preliminary, the promising aircraft will receive domestic PD-8 engines designed for import-substituted SJ-100 Superjets and Be-200 amphibians. It should be noted that the controlling stake in the Aurus manufacturer belongs to a Gazprom structure.
