The construction cost of the Adler automobile bypass has increased from 73.5 billion to 127.9 billion rubles, according to the press service of the state company Avtodor. The main reasons for the increase were the complex mountainous terrain of the area, which required expanding the scope of engineering and earthworks, as well as a significant increase in the cost of building materials, equipment, and logistics services.
The construction cost of the Adler bypass of 127.9 billion rubles is due to objective factors. In 2022, calculations were based on preliminary estimates based on standards. As the project was developed in detail, more accurate data emerged on geology, engineering communications, and the required amount of work — and this is a mountainous area with difficult terrain.
The Adler bypass is considered a key segment of the new high-speed highway "Dzhubga — Sochi", designed to relieve traffic flows on the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar Territory. In January 2025, Glavgosexpertiza approved the project documentation for the fourth stage of construction, and in September 2024 — the first two stages. This allows starting the project in stages, despite the increase in costs.
Earlier, the General Director of Avtodor, Vyacheslav Petushenko, stated that the full cost of the future Dzhubga — Sochi highway would be determined by 2030. So far, financial adjustments concern precisely the section in the Adler area, where geological and climatic conditions require the use of complex engineering solutions.
