The newest model of AvtoVAZ, Lada Iskra, may massively end up in the capital's taxi fleets as early as the end of this year. This was stated by Elena German, a representative of the corporate sales department of AvtoVAZ.
We will most likely have a delivery of Lada Iskra cars to Yandex for taxi fleets in December — January. Possibly even in the "economy" tariff in Moscow.
She called Iskra a "modest in size" car with progressive electronics. German drew attention to the redesigned suspension and warm options of the car.
About 250 Lada Iskra cars have previously been delivered to taxi fleets throughout Russia. They were purchased by companies in million-plus cities. In Moscow, about 20 Lada Iskra cars were sold to fleets in mid-October.
Lada Iskra is a subcompact front-wheel drive car. It is offered in three body styles: sedan and two types of station wagons (standard and Cross). The base version is equipped with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 90 hp and a five-speed manual gearbox. More expensive trim levels feature a 106-horsepower 16-valve engine paired with a six-speed manual or continuously variable transmission.
The wheelbase of Lada Iskra is 12.7 cm longer compared to the Granta model, which provides greater comfort in the cabin. The body dimensions are about 4.33 m in length and 1.78 m in width.
