AvtoVAZ has reported on the road tests of the Lada Iskra, which preceded the launch of the model into mass production. The tests involved several dozen cars, the purpose of which was to check the strength and reliability of the design in various conditions.
The tests took place at AvtoVAZ's "endless" proving ground, where cars could travel at maximum speed until the fuel ran out. Sections with cobblestones, soil, and bumps were simulated to reproduce real operating conditions as closely as possible.
The total volume of Lada Iskra test runs amounted to 150,000 kilometers, which is one and a half times the warranty resource. Representatives of the company note that the model became the first in the history of the brand to pass such a large-scale testing program.
According to the test results, the engineers did not find a single failing component, which indicates the high quality of the platform, power unit, and body.
