AvtoVAZ has announced the road tests of the Lada Iskra, which preceded the launch of the model into mass production. The tests involved several dozen cars, the purpose of which was to test the strength and reliability of the design in various conditions.
The tests took place at AvtoVAZ's "endless" proving ground, where cars could move at maximum speed until the fuel ran out. Sections with cobblestones, soil, and irregularities were simulated to maximally reproduce real operating conditions.
The total volume of Lada Iskra test runs amounted to 150 thousand kilometers, which is one and a half times higher than the warranty resource. Representatives of the company note that the model became the first in the history of the brand to pass such a large-scale test program.
According to the test results, the engineers did not find a single failing component, which indicates the high quality of the platform, power unit, and body.
