A major upgrade of the iron foundry is underway at AvtoVAZ. A new furnace cooling system has already been put into operation, and one of the automated molding lines is in the final stages of overhaul.
The technologies used previously were still coping with production tasks, but a comprehensive upgrade with the replacement of components and the introduction of new control systems raises production to a qualitatively new level. Many elements were not simply replaced with analogues, but were manufactured anew: the company's engineers developed 3D models of the parts, after which partners produced them under the strict supervision of the plant's specialists. At the same time, the control system has been modernized — now it is fully automated.
Particular attention is paid to the pouring area. The new line is equipped with a modern pouring machine with a closed cabin, armored glass, enhanced lighting and a system of protective sensors. An air conditioning system is provided for the comfort of metallurgists. The first batches of metal on the updated line will go into molds in the near future.
