Поставят на счётчик: плату за проезд грузовиков по системе «Платон» могут расширить на регионы России

Since 2015, almost 350 billion rubles have been collected from heavy-duty vehicles

The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation is preparing a justification for charging trucks for traveling on regional roads using the "Platon" system. At the same time, the department stated that a final decision has not yet been made.

FKU "Roads of Russia" (subordinate to the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation) has announced a tender for the development of a financial and economic model (project evaluation, including its results and risks) "creation and operation of toll collection systems" for the passage of heavy trucks on regional and intermunicipal roads. Applications for the competition are accepted until November 12.

President Vladimir Putin previously instructed the government and the Central Bank to consider the possibility of granting regions the right to charge for the passage of heavy-duty trucks. Most constituent entities of the Russian Federation support the expansion of the functions of "Platon", the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation emphasized.

What they say in the expert community

The head of the "Gruzavtotrans" association, Vladimir Matyagin, said that first "it would be worth putting things in order" in the work of the system itself.

We still continue to receive erroneous  fines for carriers.

According to Matyagin, truck drivers complain about the unstable signal on the on-board systems of "Platon" (the on-board computer is installed on the vehicle itself).

System failures were recorded in February 2025. Then erroneous fines were received by carriers working in the south of Russia.

It turned out that the problems with "Platon" appeared due to the action of electronic warfare systems, which prevented on-board systems from determining the coordinates of trucks.

From September 1, 2025, the billing rules were adjusted. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation explained that now, in case of failures, an "automatic algorithmic route completion" is applied, which eliminates errors.

About the "Platon" system

The Russian state system "Platon" appeared in 2015. It helps to collect fees from trucks with a maximum permissible weight of over 12 tons for traveling on federal roads. The money goes to the Road Fund of the Russian Federation for subsequent repair and construction of new roads.

The current tariff is 3.34 rubles per 1 km. Over the past 10 years, about 350 billion rubles have been collected from carriers.
