According to a survey, more than half of respondents, 54%, buy a SIM card in the country they are visiting or arrange an eSIM in advance. The remaining 46% of respondents connect to local Wi-Fi or use roaming.
The top 5 countries for which OneTwoTrip customers arrange eSIMs are Turkey (16.3% of orders), China (13.2%), UAE (11.6%), Thailand (6.5%), and Japan (6.3%).
Typically, travelers choose a 1-gigabyte internet traffic package, which accounts for almost a quarter of orders, while 15.4% of respondents use an unlimited plan. 15.3% of respondents choose 2-gigabyte plans.
