Telegram added email login confirmation

The addition of the option may be related to recent restrictions on sending SMS from operators for verification in the application

In Telegram, an additional email login feature has appeared in the "Privacy" tab. Now verification codes can also be received by email.

Linking mail has become an additional measure necessary when it is not possible to receive a code to enter the messenger via SMS. Previously, Russian telecom operators were instructed torestrict the transmission of SMS and voice calls with authorization codes from contractors of Telegram and WhatsApp messengers. Also, using mail will increase account security or help you log in using Telegram on other devices. And if the user forgets the cloud password, then it can also be reset using email.

The email address will be used each time you log into your account from a new device, as indicated in the pop-up information window of the messenger.

You can connect the option in the settings, in the "Privacy" tab, by entering your email in a special field.
