The «Kalashnikov» concern has concluded a contract for the supply of «Saiga-12KV» service smoothbore shotguns for security personnel of one of the state corporations of the Russian Federation. It is in charge of facilities owned by the state, the concern's press service reported.
The «Saiga-12KV» shotgun in version 030 was developed on the basis of the Kalashnikov AK-74M assault rifle. It is suitable for 12-gauge cartridges with sleeves 70 and 76 mm long.
The product is equipped with a removable flame arrester, it is possible to install interchangeable muzzle nozzles. There is also a trigger mechanism lock with the butt folded and a Picatinny rail on the receiver cover.

The «Saiga-12» line of shotguns has been produced at the Izhevsk Machine-Building Plant (IMZ, part of the Kalashnikov concern) since 1997. In addition to Russia, the weapon is operated in Belarus, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan. Until 2014, IMZ supplied shotguns to the United States. They were purchased for law enforcement agencies and military personnel.
